LONDON (Reuters) – U.S. President-elect Mr . trump said NATO was obsolete mainly because it had not defended against terror attacks, but that the military alliance continued to be necessary for him, The Times based in london reported.
“I took such heat, as i said NATO was obsolete," Trump told the newspaper in a interview. "It’s obsolete since it wasn’t taking good care of terror. I took loads of heat for a few days. And they started saying Trump is in line."
Trump added that numerous NATO members wasn’t paying their great for U.S. protection.
“A number of these countries aren’t paying what they’re meant to be paying, when i think is rather unfair into the United states of america," Trump said. "With that being said, NATO is really important to me. There’s five countries which might be paying what they are purported to. Five. It’s not much."
